In a successful operation against drug trafficking, the Deesa South Police have arrested a man for possessing 700 grams of marijuana. The suspect, identified as Shah Rukhbhai Hanifbhai Makrani, was taken into custody in the Ganjipura Gawadi area of Deesa. The seized marijuana has an estimated value of Rs. 7,000. Additionally, the police recovered a mobile phone and other documents, bringing the total value of the confiscated items to Rs. 7,500.
According to reports, the operation was initiated following instructions from Akshayraj Makwana, the Superintendent of Police for Kutch-Bhuj and Banaskantha districts. The police were tasked with cracking down on individuals involved in the trafficking and sale of drugs. Under the guidance of PI V.M. Chaudhary from Deesa South Police Station, Inspector S.D. Chaudhary and his team conducted patrols in the area.
During their patrol, they received information that Shah Rukhbhai Hanifbhai Makrani was illegally storing marijuana at his residence and selling it. Acting swiftly on this tip-off, the police executed a search warrant at his home. They found 700 grams of dry marijuana in his courtyard, as well as a mobile phone and other items.
The police have now registered a case against Makrani under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Gujarat to combat drug-related crimes and safeguard the community. The police encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking to help maintain public safety.
