Police Bust Dabba Trading Gang in Patan District

In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Patan LCB team has arrested seven individuals involved in a ‘dabba trading’ scam. This operation took place under the guidance of Patan’s Superintendent of Police, V.K. Nayak. The arrests were made in the Saraswati police station area, where the gang was reportedly operating from a farm on the outskirts of Sapra village.

The police received a tip-off about the illegal trading activities happening in the Mahadevapura area of Mopra village. Acting on this information, officers raided a house built on the farm owned by Abhesang Halaji Thakor. During the operation, the police seized 16 mobile phones and cash amounting to 84,000 rupees.

The arrested individuals were using an application called Market Pulse to obtain stock market information. They made calls to customers using basic keypad mobile phones, often impersonating themselves with false names. The gang allegedly lured people into making profits in the stock market without having the necessary SEBI licenses.

The arrested suspects include Abhesang Halaji Thakor, Ranjitji Bhartji Thakor, Pintujji Kanuji Thakor, Jitujji Bhupatji Thakor, Karansinh Dhudaji Thakor, Vipulji alias Gaman Rajjuji Thakor, and a minor. Three other suspects, Kiritji Zenaji Thakor, Shaileshji, and Sachin, remain at large. The police have filed charges against the arrested individuals under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and the IT Act.

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat financial crimes and protect the public from fraudulent activities. The investigation is still ongoing, and the police are working to apprehend the remaining suspects. Authorities urge the community to report any suspicious activities related to illegal trading to prevent further scams. The Patan LCB has committed to continuing their vigilance against such offenses to ensure the safety and financial security of residents in the area.
