Police in Godhra Arrest Suspect with Stolen Gold and Cash

In Godhra, the Panchmahal Local Crime Branch (LCB) has successfully cracked a case of burglary that had gone undetected. The police arrested a man, identified as Nishar alias Jangliyo Anwarbhai Badam, near the Popatpura pickup stand. He was found in possession of stolen gold and silver jewellery, along with cash amounting to ₹1,43,973. This operation was conducted under the guidance of R.V. Asari, the Inspector General of Police for the Panchmahal-Godhra range, and Superintendent of Police Himanshu Solanki.

The LCB was instructed to prevent property-related crimes and to solve outstanding cases. Based on a tip-off, the LCB staff were alerted about Nishar selling stolen jewellery in suspicious circumstances. They quickly moved to the Popatpura pickup stand and apprehended him.

During the interrogation, the suspect revealed that he, along with his accomplices Salman Abdul Raouf Saburiya and Irfan Abdul Majid Padwa, had broken into a locked house in the Harijaan Vas area of Dudhadari. They used a crowbar to enter the home and then broke open a locked cupboard to steal gold and silver items, as well as cash.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about burglary in the area. The police are urging residents to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
