In a significant operation, the Palanpur parole and furlough team seized 4,020 bottles of foreign liquor during a patrol in the Mavsari area. The operation took place on Mavsari Bakhasar Road based on a tip-off. The team, while monitoring the area, noticed a pickup truck that was reportedly carrying liquor from Rajasthan towards Mavsari. The police set up a watch and conducted vehicle checks on the road. When the pickup truck arrived, they stopped it for inspection. Upon checking, they found 4,020 bottles of Indian-made foreign liquor valued at approximately ₹6.41 lakh, along with cash of ₹15,200, two mobile phones, and the pickup truck itself worth ₹4 lakh. The total value of the seized items came to ₹10.91 lakh. Two individuals, Shiva Mahadevji Gohil and Jethunsinh Nimasih Sodha, were arrested. They are residents of Badmer, Tehsil Chouhtan in Rajasthan. A complaint has been registered against them at the Mavsari police station. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb illegal liquor trafficking in the region.
