In a recent operation in the Singvad area of Gujarat, police seized a large quantity of beer. On May 31, at around 1 PM, police received a tip-off about illegal liquor sales in the village of Sakariya. Officers from the Randhipur police station acted promptly. They conducted a raid near the house of a local named Dhamor Prabhat Saiyba. During the search, they found 20 cartons of beer, each containing 480 cans, along with an additional 264 loose cans. In total, the officers confiscated 744 cans of beer. This amount is equivalent to 372 litres of beer, with an estimated value of ₹85,560 (around £1,000). The beer was identified as ‘Mount 6000 Original Super Strong Beer’ with a 500 mL capacity. No suspects were found at the scene during the raid. The police have initiated further investigations into this case. This incident highlights ongoing issues with illegal alcohol trade in rural areas of Gujarat. The local community has expressed concern over the rising number of illegal liquor activities, calling for increased police surveillance and action.
