Potholes Cause Trouble for Patan Residents

In Patan, residents are facing serious difficulties due to potholes on main roads. These problems have arisen after the local municipality began underground work for drainage and wiring. The digging has not been properly filled in, leading to many large holes in various areas of the city. This situation has worsened due to recent rains, which have made the roads even more difficult to navigate.

The main road from the Bagwada Gate to Subhash Chowk and the road leading to Verai Chakla are particularly affected. With the rainwater pooling in these potholes, many vehicles have become stuck. Drivers are frustrated as they struggle to pass through these damaged roads. Despite the clear need for repairs, the municipality and the Gujarat Electricity Board (GEB) have not taken adequate measures to fill the potholes.

In response to the ongoing issues, the Patan Congress Committee has submitted a letter to the Chief Officer of the municipality. The committee aims to address the suffering of local residents caused by these potholes. Deepakbhai Patel, the president of the city Congress, stated that they have formally presented the issues at a meeting held on Wednesday at 4 PM. They are urging for immediate action to fill the potholes and restore the roads for safe travel.

Residents have expressed their disappointment and anger towards the municipal authorities. They feel neglected as their pleas for help seem to go unheard. The potholes not only pose a danger to vehicles but also to pedestrians. Many people have reported near-misses and accidents due to the poor road conditions.

The Patan municipality is expected to address these concerns soon. Local leaders are hopeful that the municipality will respond to the public’s needs and take quick action to repair the roads. In the meantime, residents are urged to be cautious while driving and to avoid the most damaged areas whenever possible.

The ongoing situation highlights the importance of proper road maintenance and the need for local governments to prioritize infrastructure improvements. As Patan continues to develop, ensuring safe and accessible roads will be crucial for its residents’ well-being and mobility. Many hope that the municipality will take the necessary steps to resolve these issues promptly, ensuring that all citizens can travel safely on their roads.
