Power Company Neglects Safety in Kapadvanj During Monsoon

Kapadvanj: In the Nilkanth Nagar Society on Ratnakar Mata Road, residents are worried about safety. Heavy winds and rain have caused three to four trees to fall onto power lines. This situation poses a serious risk of accidents.

Branches of some trees have fallen across electricity wires. There is a high chance that these wires could break or cause electric shocks. One electricity pole has also tilted dangerously. Despite several calls to the engineer in Kapadvanj, no action has been taken. Many days have passed while the situation remains dangerous. The question arises: are authorities waiting for an accident to happen?

Residents also report that on Nakshatra Road, power lines pass through many trees. These hazards have not been addressed. Frequent power cuts are now common, causing frustration among the people. It is crucial that the authorities quickly remove the wires that are in contact with tree branches. The High Court has ruled that power lines should not touch trees, making it the responsibility of the electricity board to take action.

In a separate issue, the residents of Kapadvanj are also facing problems with electricity supply. The situation has become dire, with reports of power outages occurring multiple times a day. With temperatures reaching 42 degrees Celsius, citizens are left without electricity for hours. This has raised concerns about the lack of support from the electricity department. Residents are often left without drinking water, as pumping stations rely on electrical power.

The residents demand that the authorities take effective and immediate action regarding the frequent outages. They are struggling to understand why these outages continue, especially since they often occur during maintenance work. The people are asking for a stronger response from the electricity department to ensure a stable power supply.

Moreover, a new 66 kV substation has been established in Bhutiya and Thavada villages, which is expected to improve the electricity supply for around 8,000 customers, including farmers and small industries. This facility will help reduce power cuts during the farming season, providing stable voltage for better irrigation. However, the management office of the electricity company has been moved to a location about one kilometer away, causing inconvenience for customers who now must travel further to address their complaints. Anant Patel, a local resident, expressed frustration over this change, highlighting the need for a customer service center to be accessible within the community.

The citizens of Kapadvanj are calling for a dedicated complaint center to be established in a more convenient location. They believe that this would significantly ease the burden on both urban and rural residents. The ongoing issues have led to growing dissatisfaction, and the community hopes that the authorities will listen and respond to their needs.
