In Tharad, a rescue operation took place for a young bull (nandi) that had fallen into the Narmada canal near Nagla Bridge. Bystanders quickly informed the Tharad Fire Department. Fire officer Viramji Rathod reported that the team reached the scene as soon as they received the call. Local people and passers-by joined hands to help save the bull.
The rescue efforts lasted for over an hour. The nandi was stuck and could not get out of the canal divider. Finally, the team managed to rescue the nandi with the help of a loader. After the successful operation, the nandi was released in an open area.
This incident highlights the importance of community and quick response in emergency situations. The teamwork displayed by local people and the fire department shows how everyone can come together for a good cause.
In a related note, the Tharad area has been facing water issues for years. The state government has been working to resolve these issues with various water supply projects. Recently, during Mahashivratri, efforts were made to fill ponds in Tharad through the Sipu scheme.
The Tharad Sipu pipeline project is designed to benefit the region by filling local ponds with water from the Narmada canal. Shankar Chaudhary visited the Mahajanpura pumping station to start the water flow. The project is expected to cost around 592 crore rupees and will connect Tharad, Disa, Lakhni, and Dantiwada.
The 70-kilometre-long pipeline will fill 70 village ponds, with the majority in Tharad. This includes 47 ponds in Tharad, 35 in Disa, 19 in Lakhni, and 5 in Dantiwada. The project aims to improve groundwater levels, providing hope for farmers in the area.
Overall, the rescue of the nandi and the ongoing water projects reflect the community’s spirit and the government’s commitment to solving local issues.
