In a tragic incident, a peacock was found dead at the Champaner Railway Station in Gujarat. The rescue attempt was made by a wildlife-loving group along with the Forest Department. On the evening of the incident, between 6:30 and 7:30 PM, the railway received a call about a peacock being trapped. The Railway Forest Officer, Satishbhai Bariya, responded to the call. He quickly joined forces with Pintubhai and Pankajbhai from the wildlife group to investigate the situation at the station.
Upon arrival, they discovered that the national bird was trapped in the front bumper of a train. The team communicated with the station master at the preceding station, who ordered train number 12904 to stop. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, the peacock was found dead upon rescue.
The railway authorities then handed over the deceased bird to the Halol Forest Department along with a letter detailing the incident. The wildlife group conducted the final rites for the peacock to ensure it received a respectful send-off.
