In Kadi, residents are unhappy about a poorly maintained road that has been in bad condition for over a year. This road runs from the Hanuman Temple to the Bhagyoday Chowk. Despite a foundation stone being laid six months ago, the road repair work has not yet started. The 600-meter stretch of road is filled with potholes, making it difficult for local residents and drivers.
Local residents and drivers have repeatedly asked for repairs. After many complaints, permission was finally granted for the road’s renovation. The project was approved with the intention of upgrading the road to asphalt. However, nearby areas, including Shivshakti Society and Market Yard, faced waterlogging problems. This led to a new proposal being sent to Gandhinagar for a concrete road instead.
The road was expected to cost over one crore rupees and work began in April. Officials promised that the work would be completed within two months. However, as of now, only the concrete road at Shivshakti Society has been finished. Traffic congestion has also become a problem, causing customers to avoid nearby shops. Residents living near the road are expressing their frustration.
Local shopkeepers say that the bad road conditions create dust clouds, which affect their business. Even after the recent assembly elections and the victory of the BJP candidate, the road repairs are still incomplete. Locals are calling for the work to be finished as they are suffering from the current situation.
They feel neglected, as the promises made by officials have not been fulfilled. As the dust continues to rise and the potholes remain, residents hope for a quick resolution to their road troubles. The local government must take immediate action to address these issues and ensure that the road is repaired as soon as possible. This will help restore normalcy and improve the quality of life for everyone in Kadi.
