Rising COVID-19 Cases in Gujarat: Ahmedabad and Rajkot Report New Infections

Gujarat is witnessing a concerning rise in COVID-19 cases. The number of active cases in the state has reached 508. Ahmedabad city has reported 70 new cases in the last 24 hours. This marks a worrying trend as the number of new cases in Ahmedabad has exceeded 60 for three consecutive days. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad is now 471, with 330 of these being active cases. The western zone of the city has reported more than 100 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, the state has recorded 119 new cases. As of the evening of June 4th, the total number of active cases in Gujarat stands at 508. The state government has directed all municipal corporations and local bodies to take precautionary measures against COVID-19.

The rise in cases has led to the unfortunate deaths of three female patients in Ahmedabad. Out of the total 471 cases, 149 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. The majority of active cases are in the western zone of Ahmedabad, where there are 107 active patients, while 94 are in the north-western zone. The central zone has only 6 active cases.

The government has advised municipal corporations to ensure that all facilities for COVID-19 patients are available. They have also instructed to increase the number of isolation beds, promote mask usage, and avoid large gatherings.

In Rajkot, doctors at the civil hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. They have been admitted to the civil hospital for treatment. In the last 24 hours, Rajkot has confirmed 7 new cases, while 7 patients have recovered and been discharged from the hospital. So far, a total of 68 cases have been recorded in Rajkot, with 17 patients discharged.

Vadodara also reported 6 new positive cases, which have been confirmed in areas such as Ramdevnagar, Chhani, Diwalipura, and Bhayli. Gujarat currently ranks third in the country for active COVID-19 cases. Kerala has the highest number of cases at 1,373, while Maharashtra has 510 active cases, including 16 new cases. In comparison, Delhi has 457 active cases, while Gujarat’s active cases total 508.
