Road Closure for Heavy Vehicles from Narmada Chokdi to Dahegam Bypass

In Bhavnagar, Gujarat, a major road closure will affect heavy vehicles from Narmada Chokdi to Dahegam Bypass. This closure is in place from June 28 to July 13, 2025. The Gujarat State Road Development Corporation has announced this closure due to construction work on a new six-lane elevated corridor. The work is being done on the road between Bholav Junction and Shravan Junction.

The road will be closed every day from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM for 15 days. Heavy vehicles and goods carriers will not be allowed on this route during these hours. The closure includes all heavy vehicles, passenger buses, school buses, and vehicles carrying essential items. However, certain types of vehicles will be exempt from this ban.

Exempt vehicles include essential service vehicles such as milk transport and those carrying vegetables. Vehicles with a Gujarat registration number plate (GJ-16) that are destined for the GIDC (Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation) areas at Bholav will also be exempt. This means that while most heavy traffic will need to find alternative routes, essential services will continue to operate.

The police have provided detailed alternative routes for drivers affected by this closure. For those traveling from Dahej to Vadodara, the recommended diversion includes Dahej Town, Amod Chokdi, Kadodara Chokdi, and Mulera Chokdi. If you are headed from Dahej to Surat, the suggested route includes Rahiyad, Pakhajan, Vagra, Vilayat, Deyrol, Dayadra, and Nabipur.

In addition, vehicles traveling from Vilayat to Vadodara or Surat are advised to take the route via Vilayat Chokdi, Deyrol, Dayadra, and Nabipur. These diversions aim to minimize delays and ensure safety on the roads during the construction period.

Authorities are keen to enforce this road closure strictly. Anyone found violating the closure will face penalties under the Gujarat Police Act. This move aims to ensure that the construction work proceeds without any interruptions or accidents.

In summary, the road closure from Narmada Chokdi to Dahegam Bypass is a significant development that will affect many drivers in the region. The construction work is essential for improving the infrastructure and ensuring better connectivity in the future. However, it is crucial for drivers to follow the authorities’ guidelines and use the specified alternative routes during this period. The road closure will be in effect from June 28 to July 13, 2025, and will be enforced daily from 5:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
