In a shocking incident in Ahmedabad, robbers broke into a house in Vidyanagar Society while the owners were away. The thieves targeted a home belonging to a businessman, who had gone to his hometown. The robbers stole gold jewellery worth ₹8.69 lakhs and also removed the outdoor unit of an air conditioner, causing damages worth ₹16 lakhs in total.
The incident happened in the Osmanpura area. CCTV footage captured four robbers entering the neighborhood during the night. The police have formed teams to track down the culprits based on this footage.
The businessman, identified as Bhaveshbhai Patel, originally from Surendranagar, runs a factory and is also involved in land dealings. He has been living in Harmony Status bungalows near Science City for the past three years. His wife, Bhavanaben, left for Surendranagar about a month ago.
On the 12th of the month, Bhavanaben went to Morbi for a family visit. Bhaveshbhai went to pick her up, and they both returned to Surendranagar. On the 17th of the month, a neighbor, Shwetaben, called Bhaveshbhai to inform him that the backdoor of his house was left open.
Worried, they rushed back to Ahmedabad. Upon arriving, they discovered that the stopper on the back door was broken. Inside the house, they found that the robbers had ransacked everything, leading to the extensive theft.
The stolen items included over 347 grams of gold jewellery, which was valued at ₹8.69 lakhs. The local police, upon receiving the report, quickly arrived at the scene and began examining nearby CCTV footage. They were able to confirm the presence of the four robbers in the area around midnight.
The police are now working hard to identify these robbers using the footage and other available evidence. They are hopeful that the investigation will lead to quick arrests.
This incident has raised concerns among the residents of Vidyanagar Society regarding their safety. Many are now calling for better security measures in the area. The police have assured the community that they are doing everything possible to ensure their safety and bring the criminals to justice.
