Sabar Dairy Reduces Feed Prices to Support Milk Producers

In a significant move, Sabar Dairy has decided to reduce the price of sabardan, a crucial feed for dairy cattle, by ₹50 per sack. This decision, announced by the board led by Chairman Shamalbhai Patel, aims to benefit over 300,000 milk producers in the Sabarkantha and Aravalli districts. The price reduction will take effect from July 2. Previously, a sack of 65 kg sabardan cost ₹1600, but it will now be priced at ₹1550.

The board’s decision is part of a broader strategy to enhance the livelihoods of dairy farmers. By lowering feed costs, producers can save on production expenses. This is expected to lead to an estimated monthly saving of ₹2.5 crore for milk producers.

The dairy plant near HajiPur operates daily, producing around 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes of sabardan. With a new plant capable of producing up to 30,000 tonnes daily, Sabar Dairy is preparing for future increases in demand for this essential feed. The necessary machinery has already been installed to ensure that supply meets demand.

Dairy farming is a vital part of the rural economy in Gujarat. The reduction in feed prices comes at a time when many farmers are struggling with rising costs of living and production. Sabar Dairy has been proactive in addressing these issues, ensuring that milk producers receive fair compensation for their efforts.

Sabar Dairy has a long history of supporting local farmers and aims to continue its mission of improving their economic conditions. The board is committed to making decisions that enhance the profitability of the dairy business, which is a key source of income for many families in the region.

In addition to the feed price reduction, there have been recent increases in milk prices as well. Earlier this year, milk prices rose by ₹20 following several adjustments in the past few years. This trend reflects the ongoing challenges faced by dairy producers, who must balance rising costs with consumer prices.

As the dairy industry continues to evolve, Sabar Dairy remains a leader in Gujarat. The board’s recent decisions underline its commitment to the welfare of dairy farmers. By supporting local producers, Sabar Dairy not only boosts the economy but also ensures that consumers have access to quality milk products.

The milk production sector is a lifeline for many in the region, and Sabar Dairy’s actions will likely lead to increased stability for farmers. As a result, the dairy farmers express their gratitude to the board for its efforts to ease their financial burdens.

In conclusion, the decision to reduce the price of sabardan is a welcome relief for dairy producers. It enhances their profitability and supports the overall health of the dairy industry in Gujarat. With ongoing efforts to monitor and adjust prices, Sabar Dairy is set to play a crucial role in the future of dairy farming in the state.
