In Siddhpur, the Abhinav High School and Shishu Mandir have shown remarkable talent in sports. For the past ten years, the Sports Authority of Gujarat has been working with these schools to promote sports. This initiative has provided two coaches and various sports equipment to help students excel. Coaches Sendhabhai Jadav and Rahulbhai Patel have dedicated their time to guide students during school hours and vacations.
Every year, students participate in local, district, state, and national sports events. They have achieved great success, winning medals and awards in various competitions. This year, during the summer vacations, around 25 students trained every day in extreme heat for three to four hours under the watchful eyes of their coaches.
Among these students, eight excelled in the Young Talent Test (YT) at the district level. They have now qualified for the state level and will gain entry into the District Level Sports School (DLSS). The Gujarat Sports Authority will provide these students with free hostel accommodation and education. They will also receive a healthy diet and sports kits for their training. Each month, they will receive a stipend for sports students to support their journey.
This initiative is a great opportunity for young athletes. It not only helps them improve their skills but also opens doors for future careers in sports. The dedication of the coaches and the enthusiasm of the students are commendable. With continued support, Siddhpur can produce even more talented athletes in the future.
