Signify’s CSR Initiative Lights Up 78,000 Lives in Andhra Pradesh

Signify, a global leader in lighting, has made a significant impact in Andhra Pradesh. Through its ‘Har Gaon Roshan’ CSR initiative, the company has illuminated 230 villages in the Parvathipuram Manyam district. This project has brought sustainable lighting solutions to 17,766 families, positively affecting over 78,200 lives in the region. Nikhil Gupta, head of marketing and CSR at Signify, shared the importance of reliable lighting. He stated, “Access to dependable lighting is a foundation of development. It empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and drives progress. With Har Gaon Roshan, we aim to go beyond infrastructure; we are enabling a safer environment, better educational outcomes, and economic opportunities. Every installation reflects our commitment to sustainability and the transformative power of light for a brighter world.” The project was officially launched in a ceremony attended by Shyam Prasad, the district collector, alongside Signify’s senior leadership and implementation partner Jan Kalyan Samakhya (JKS). The project involved community participation to ensure that outdoor lighting solutions were well placed and properly maintained. Local community members received training in the basic maintenance of the lighting systems, creating a sustainable model for long-term impact. The Har Gaon Roshan initiative benefits remote and underserved villages where electricity infrastructure exists but outdoor lighting is lacking. By using energy-efficient LED lighting solutions, the program provides sustainable light that requires minimal maintenance while maximizing impact. This marks a significant step in Signify’s ongoing commitment to illuminate rural India.
