Smartphone Brands in Gujarat Slash Prices to Clear Stock Ahead of Festive Season

In Gujarat, smartphone brands are offering significant discounts to clear out excess inventory. This move comes as the first half of 2025 saw a 3% drop in shipments compared to last year. Despite this decline, retail sales are expected to grow by 3%, thanks to upcoming shopping events.

Major shopping events like Prime Day, Raksha Bandhan, and Independence Day are just around the corner. Smartphone manufacturers are eager to attract buyers with aggressive discounts. The strategy is to reduce stock levels before the festive season, which typically sees a spike in consumer spending.

Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint, noted that inventory levels are higher than last year. This excess is partly due to decreased demand after Diwali and ongoing product refreshes for new launches. “As we conclude the first half of this year, we see more inventory in the Indian smartphone market than at the same time last year,” Pathak explained.

The inventory surge began in the last quarter of 2024, following a drop in sales after the festive season. Brands began refreshing their product line-ups for 2025. The second quarter started with nearly 11 weeks of inventory, which decreased slightly after the Monsoon sales. However, inventory levels are rising again as brands replenish channels.

Despite the overall trend, some brands are managing their stock more effectively. Vivo, Samsung, Apple, and Motorola have successfully reduced their inventory levels. In contrast, brands like OnePlus, Xiaomi, iQOO, Realme, Oppo, and Nothing still have higher stock levels. These brands are likely to offer deeper discounts to entice buyers.

To capitalise on the upcoming shopping rush, smartphone companies are launching major promotional offers. For instance, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra 5G is now available for ₹74,999, with options for 12 months of no-cost EMI. Similarly, the iPhone 15 can be purchased for ₹57,999, a rare deal available exclusively during Prime Day.

Budget and mid-range smartphones are also seeing significant price cuts. The iQOO Neo 10R 5G is offered at an effective price of ₹23,499 with various discounts applied. The OnePlus 13s is now priced at ₹49,999 after a ₹5,000 bank offer. Other popular models, including the OnePlus 13 and Nord CE4 Lite, are also part of these discount promotions.

This discount trend is not just limited to smartphones. Retailers are pushing for increased sales by promoting accessories and service bundles. Many companies are offering trade-in bonuses to encourage customers to upgrade to new models, further boosting sales.

As consumers gear up for the festive season, these discounts are likely to attract many buyers in Gujarat. With a combination of aggressive pricing and promotional offers, smartphone brands are positioning themselves for a successful second half of 2025. The upcoming events will be crucial for clearing out excess stock and meeting consumer demand as the festive shopping period approaches.

In conclusion, shoppers in Gujarat can look forward to a variety of exciting offers from top smartphone brands. With discounts on both high-end and budget models, now is a great time to consider upgrading your device as the festive season draws near.
