Godhra, a city in Gujarat, is facing a crisis at the Seva Sadan office. The ATVT (Agricultural Technology and Veterinary Training) department has been struggling due to a severe shortage of staff. This has left many applicants waiting for vital services such as income certificates and birth and death registrations. Frustration has been rising among those who come to seek help.
Recently, a group of applicants gathered at the office to complain about the long delays. Many had arrived as early as 10 AM, but by 3 PM, they had still not received any assistance. They expressed their anger, saying that no responsible official was present to address their concerns. The lack of staff has made it impossible for the remaining employees to manage the workload effectively.
The employees themselves are feeling overwhelmed. With too few staff members to handle the demands of the job, they have also faced difficulties. Some employees voiced their frustrations by stopping work altogether, which further delayed the processing of applications. This has led to a backlog of requests and growing discontent among the public.
Many applicants have reported that they come daily with the hope of receiving services. However, the lack of staff means they often leave empty-handed. They have called for immediate action from the authorities to hire more staff and improve the situation.
Adding to the issues at Seva Sadan, there has been a recent scandal involving two employees from the District Industry Centre in Godhra. They were caught accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 from a businessman who had applied for a loan. The bribe was demanded under the pretext of securing loan approval for a mineral water plant.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) intervened and arrested one of the employees while the other managed to escape temporarily but was later caught at his residence. This incident has caused panic among other employees in the Seva Sadan and has raised serious concerns about corruption within public services.
As this situation unfolds, residents of Godhra are calling for transparency and accountability from their local government. They demand that the authorities ensure that necessary services are provided promptly and fairly. The community hopes that the government will take action not only to hire more staff but also to address corruption effectively.
The people of Godhra deserve efficient and reliable public services that cater to their needs. The recent events have highlighted the urgent need for reform in the local administration. Residents hope that with the right measures, their voices will be heard, and necessary improvements will follow.
