Students Take Oath at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University Event

A significant event took place at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University in Ahmedabad. The All India University (AIU) hosted a student oath-taking ceremony under the theme ‘Youth Power, Strength of India – One Youth, One Nation, One Resolve’. The event was led by Ahmedabad’s Mayor, Pratibha Jain, and attended by students from various regions of Gujarat. Students took a pledge filled with enthusiasm, promising to serve their nation and uphold its values.

The ceremony was part of a nationwide initiative involving five universities across different zones of India, including North, South, East, West, and Central. Mayor Jain addressed the gathering, highlighting the Indian Army’s bravery in responding to recent terrorist attacks. She praised the Army’s Operation Sindoor, which symbolised the nation’s strength and unity in the face of adversity.

Jain’s speech resonated with the students, emphasizing the need for collective support for the Indian Army. She stated, ‘The entire nation stands with our soldiers. We are united in our love for our country.’ This sentiment of patriotism was echoed by the students as they pledged their commitment to the nation.

The event aimed to inspire youth to engage actively in nation-building activities. Jain expressed her pride that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University was chosen to host this important event. She stated, ‘It is an honour for our university to be part of this national pledge program.’

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Ami Upadhyay, also spoke at the event. She highlighted the importance of self-reliance and national pride. Upadhyay mentioned how the youth are vital for India’s progress and how they can showcase India’s importance to the world. She referred to the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed India by 2047, where every citizen plays a role in nation-building.

Students took the oath with fervour, pledging to respect their national symbols, work for a clean India, and embrace unity in diversity. The ceremony included participation from board members and students from various state regions, making it a truly collective effort.

The event concluded with a strong message of hope and determination. It encouraged students to participate in social service, respect national symbols, and work towards making India self-reliant. The oath-taking ceremony was more than just a formality; it was an affirmation of the students’ commitment to their country and a call to action for the future generation.
