A tragic plane crash occurred in Ahmedabad yesterday, claiming the lives of 241 passengers. Among them was Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor of this horrific accident. Currently, he is receiving treatment in a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. In a recent media interview, Vishwas recounted the terrifying moments of the crash.
Vishwas described how the plane was preparing for takeoff at high speed when he experienced something unusual. Suddenly, the aircraft halted for about 5 to 10 seconds. After that, green and white lights flashed on, and it seemed that the pilot was struggling to gain control of the plane. In a startling turn, the plane crashed directly into a hostel building.
As Vishwas recalled, “I saw the entire plane engulfed in flames right before my eyes.” He was seated in a part of the aircraft that collided with the lower section of the building. The upper part of the plane caught fire, trapping many passengers inside. In the chaos, Vishwas was thrown from his seat when the door broke open. He managed to escape through a small opening in front of him.
On the other side of the plane, a wall prevented others from getting out. Vishwas witnessed two air hostesses and an elderly couple burning before his eyes. Though he suffered burns on his left hand, he was grateful to have survived. After emerging from the wreckage, he saw fire and smoke all around him. “If I had taken just a few seconds longer to escape, I might not be here today,” he said.
Vishwas was travelling with his brother Ajay, both residing in Leicester, UK. They were on their way to London. Another brother, Nay, mentioned that they had spoken with Vishwas, who confirmed he was safe in the hospital. However, there has been no news yet about Ajay’s whereabouts, causing deep concern for the family.
The crash also claimed the life of Harpreet Kaur Hora, who was travelling to London to meet her husband, Robby. She arrived early for his birthday on June 16. Tragically, the flight took off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport and crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in her death. The Hora family is devastated and mourning her loss.
As investigations into the crash begin, the authorities and the Ministry of Civil Aviation have assured that they will thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. The Gujarat government has promised assistance to the grieving families. Meanwhile, DNA tests are being conducted to identify the deceased and return their bodies to their families.
This tragic event has left many families in shock and sorrow. The community is coming together to support those affected by this disaster. As details of the investigation unfold, many are hoping for answers and justice for the victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash.
