In Bodeli, a town in the Chhotaudepur district of Gujarat, fear gripped the local community due to a monkey known as ‘Kapiraj’. This monkey was responsible for attacking and injuring three people, including a young girl. Residents felt unsafe and hesitant to leave their homes because of Kapiraj’s aggressive behaviour.
The incidents occurred in the Aliapura area, where the monkey caused serious injuries, especially to the legs of its victims. The local people quickly alerted the forest department about the dangerous situation. Reports suggest that the monkey’s attacks created a climate of fear among the residents, leading to discussions about how to handle the aggressive animal.
In response to the growing concern, the forest department formed teams to capture Kapiraj. After extensive efforts, they successfully trapped the monkey. Kapiraj has now been relocated to the Jabugam nursery division, where he will undergo medical tests, including blood samples, to assess his health and behaviour.
Despite the successful capture, many questions remain in the minds of the residents. They are curious about whether Kapiraj truly posed a threat or if the fear was exaggerated. Nevertheless, the community feels a sense of relief knowing that the monkey is no longer a danger to them.
