In a recent discourse, Morari Bapu spoke about the importance of chanting God’s name, especially in Kali Yuga. He emphasized that chanting is a simple and effective way to connect with the divine. During the sixth day of the Ram Katha, he responded to a devotee’s question about achieving success through mantras. Bapu explained that while achieving results is important, purity of heart holds even greater significance. He highlighted the need for a guru while practicing any mantra. When a devotee experiences joy and tears during chanting, it indicates a positive spiritual state.
As the katha progressed, Bapu shared teachings from Vishnu Giri, focusing on the concept of attachment. He presented four key points: excessive attachment to a person leads to lust, attachment to material possessions breeds anger, attachment to wealth results in greed, and attachment to status creates ego.
Bapu illustrated these teachings through the poetry of Kabir, who viewed himself as the bride of Lord Ram. Kabir expressed joy in his union with God, encouraging listeners to enjoy the divine moments in life. He stated that chanting God’s name is essential, as it serves as sustenance for the soul. Without regular practice, one may struggle to remember God in difficult times. Therefore, he urged everyone to begin chanting from today.
Continuing his narrative, Bapu described the journey of Ram and Lakshman to Janakpur. He explained that seeing the world through the eyes of a devotee can lead to a profound understanding of life. He noted that genuine devotion attracts God closer to the devotee. Bapu emphasized that while knowledge is important, true understanding of the divine comes through devotion.
After reaching Janakpur, Ram and Lakshman served Vishwamitra. The next day, they visited a garden filled with flowers, preparing for Ram and Sita’s union. Bapu spoke of the spiritual significance of this event, explaining the inner connection between Ram and Sita. He emphasized that true union happens at the soul level.
Bapu further elaborated on the symbolism of Sita’s ornaments, explaining how they represent virtues like self-discipline and surrender. When God sees these qualities in a devotee, he brings happiness to their life.
As the discourse concluded, Bapu beautifully illustrated the divine union of Ram and Sita, reminding everyone of the significance of chanting and devotion in achieving a connection with God.
