In Patan city, a thief was caught with stolen construction materials worth ₹38,000. The arrest was made near Valinath Chowk at Gokul Vatika Society. The police acted quickly after a complaint was filed by the owner, Dharmasinhbhai Desai, regarding the theft of materials from a construction site. The police used CCTV footage, human sources, and technical surveillance to track down the suspect. They arrested Hitesh Puri, also known as Action Babupuri Goswami, near Matarwadi bus station.
The police discovered that Hitesh was involved in multiple thefts. He confessed to stealing construction materials from five different locations in Patan. These places included Navjivan Society, Valinath area, Upvan bungalows, Modi Samaj Sankul, and Tamanna Society. The total number of cases against him has reached ten, across Patan, Palanpur, and Disa.
During the police interrogation, Hitesh revealed that he had stolen various items, including 35 boxes of tiles, a toilet tub, a kitchen sink, and plumbing fittings. The police have now begun further investigations into his activities.
Residents of Patan expressed relief after the arrest. They hope this will deter future thefts in the area. The authorities are now focusing on ensuring safety for construction sites, as thefts like this can be common in growing areas.
