Traffic Domes Installed in Patan to Aid Police and Raise Awareness

In Patan, three charitable organisations have come together to support the local traffic police. They have installed four traffic domes to help manage traffic better in the city. This initiative aims to ease the challenges faced by the police while also promoting awareness about organ donation.

The traffic domes are located at key intersections in Patan: Navjivan Circle, T.B. Three Roads, and near the entrance to the APMC highway. These spots are known for heavy traffic, especially during the summer and monsoon seasons. K.C. Patel, a member of Neeraj Seva Trust, shared that the police often face difficulties in managing traffic during these times.

The event to unveil these domes was attended by V.K. Nayak, the district police chief, and other officials. They expressed their gratitude to the three organisations: Neeraj Seva Trust, Patan APMC, and Shridevi Charitable Trust. These groups have worked together to improve conditions for the traffic police and the public.

The domes are equipped with seating areas, lights, and fans to provide comfort to both the police and the citizens. This thoughtful arrangement is expected to make a significant difference in handling traffic more efficiently in Patan.

However, despite these improvements, traffic issues persist in the city. Residents have raised concerns about regular traffic jams, especially near the railway station and the market yard. The local Congress president highlighted the need for additional measures, such as barricading certain routes to ease congestion.

The police department has acknowledged these traffic challenges and is looking into further solutions. The introduction of a WhatsApp number for reporting illegal activities and traffic issues is one such innovation. This allows citizens to directly inform the police about problems, enhancing community involvement in maintaining road safety.

The traffic domes not only help with managing traffic but also serve a larger purpose of raising awareness about organ donation. Slogans promoting this cause are displayed on the domes, encouraging people to consider donating organs.

As Patan continues to grow, initiatives like these are essential for ensuring public safety and awareness. The collaborative efforts of local organisations and the police demonstrate a strong commitment to community service and improving urban infrastructure. Through these traffic domes, Patan aims to set an example for other cities facing similar challenges.
