A serious accident occurred on the Bhildi Highway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. The collision took place near the SBI Bank, as an Ertiga car crashed into a truck. This incident happened while the victims were travelling from Palanpur to Kandla.
The deceased are identified as 72-year-old Lalparidevi Ram Bahadur Lal Srivastava and her 8-year-old granddaughter, Avika. They were in the Ertiga vehicle along with other family members. The family was travelling to Kidana in Gandhidham when the accident happened around 12:15 AM on Wednesday.
Reports indicate that the Ertiga collided head-on with a trailer truck. Emergency responders arrived quickly at the scene. They transported the injured to the Bhildi Community Health Centre (CHC) for initial treatment. Due to the severity of their injuries, Lalparidevi and Avika were later moved to the Disa Civil Hospital.
Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, both Lalparidevi and Avika were pronounced dead by the attending doctors. Three other passengers in the car sustained varying degrees of injuries but their identities have not been disclosed yet.
The local police have filed a complaint against the unknown driver of the truck involved in the crash. They are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
This tragic event has shocked the community. Many locals gathered at the scene of the accident, offering condolences and support to the grieving family. Traffic on the highway was temporarily affected as authorities conducted their investigations and cleared the wreckage.
