A young man tragically drowned in the famous Pavagadh Lake, located in the foothills of the revered Pavagadh pilgrimage site. The incident occurred when four friends from the village of Katkuwa in the Bodeli taluka visited the site for a day of sightseeing. After enjoying their visit, they decided to cool off at the lake. One of the young men, Vipulbhai Rathwa, 20, entered the water but soon found himself in trouble. His friend, Jigneshbhai Rathwa, bravely jumped in to save him but also began to struggle in the water. Thankfully, Jigneshbhai managed to reach a small hillock in the middle of the lake, where he was later rescued by the fire brigade. The Halol fire brigade was alerted about the drowning, and they arrived promptly at the scene. After three hours of searching, they successfully recovered Vipulbhai’s body from the depths of the lake. Jigneshbhai was safely brought back to shore, thanks to the quick actions of the rescue team. This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the dangers present in water bodies, even in popular tourist spots. Local authorities urge visitors to exercise caution when swimming and to be aware of their surroundings. The Pavagadh area is well-known for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, attracting many tourists. However, safety must always come first to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the future.
