Tragic Electrocution Claims Three Lives in Dharadhara Village

A tragic incident occurred early yesterday morning in Dharadhara village, located in the Vav taluka of Gujarat. Three members of a Dalit family lost their lives due to electrocution caused by a faulty electrical cable in their farm. The victims were Jethabhai Makwana, his wife Rakhuben, and their son Pathubhai.

The family lived in a field and had been working late into the night. In the early hours, Rakhuben woke up and accidentally stepped on a live wire. She suffered electric shocks and cried out for help. Jethabhai rushed to her aid, but he too fell victim to the electric shock. Tragically, their son Pathubhai came to check on them and met the same fate. All three died at the scene, leaving the entire village in shock.

Local residents expressed their anger over the negligence of the electric department, stating that they had reported issues with the high-tension 11 kV line multiple times before the incident. Villagers believe that the power supply department’s lack of timely maintenance led to this heartbreaking accident. After the incident, nearby villagers alerted the electricity department, who promptly arrived to disconnect the power supply.

The local police were informed, and they recorded the incident as an accident. The bodies were taken to the Vav referral hospital for post-mortem examinations. The community is mourning, and local leaders have promised to support the grieving family.

The deaths of Jethabhai, Rakhuben, and Pathubhai have sent shockwaves through Dharadhara and surrounding areas. Community leaders and villagers have expressed their condolences and are calling for accountability from the electricity department. The incident highlights the dangers posed by faulty electrical infrastructure and the need for urgent improvements.

In the wake of this tragedy, villagers are demanding better safety measures and regular checks on electrical lines to prevent such incidents in the future. The local community is coming together to support the family of the deceased during this difficult time, showing solidarity in their grief and anger over the preventable nature of this incident.
