In a tragic incident in Ahmedabad’s Shahibaug area, two brothers allegedly killed a young man over a minor dispute regarding seating on a bench. The victim, 22-year-old Chirag Dineshbhai Sarasava, was attacked with a knife after a confrontation between the groups. The incident occurred on June 3, around 9 AM, when Chirag returned home for lunch after work. He met his friend Manoj while stepping outside his house.
As they chatted, they walked towards a shop owned by Jayashankarbhai. There was a bench nearby, and Chirag intended to sit down. However, Jayashankarbhai’s wife, Aashaben, warned them that the bench was broken and advised them not to sit. This led to an argument between the two groups.
At that moment, Aashaben’s son Anuj and Manoj arrived and began to attack Chirag. They hit him with sticks, and Anuj held him down while Manoj went to get a knife from the shop. He then attacked Chirag with the knife. The commotion attracted Chirag’s family, who rushed to the scene.
Chirag was left bleeding on the ground. He was quickly taken to a civil hospital via emergency services, but unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the incident, Chirag’s brother Vishal filed a complaint against Anuj and Manoj at the Shahibaug police station, initiating an investigation into the murder.
The police are currently searching for the two brothers, who fled the scene after the attack. This incident has shocked the local community, highlighting the dangers of disputes escalating into violence. It serves as a reminder of the importance of conflict resolution and maintaining peace in society. Authorities urge citizens to report any such disputes before they turn violent.
As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Chirag, whose life was cut short due to a senseless act of violence. His family is left to deal with the aftermath of this tragic event, raising concerns about safety and the need for better conflict management in public spaces.
