A tragic incident has unfolded in Timbi village near Dhalsa, Bhavnagar, where a young man lost his life due to a love affair. The local police have registered a murder case against eight individuals in connection with this incident. The victim, 21-year-old Janakbhai, had been living in Timbi for several years and was helping his uncle with animal husbandry. According to the complaint filed by his uncle’s son, Sagar, Janak had been in a relationship with a girl from the village for the past year.
On the evening of the incident, around 7:30 PM, Sagar and Janak were at his uncle’s house when two men, Hitendra and Hardeep Gohil, came looking for Janak. They accused him of eloping with their sister and threatened to kill him if they found him.
Soon after, Janak was spotted on his bike heading towards Dhalsa. Hitendra and others chased him and rammed their car into his bike, causing him to fall. They then attacked him with iron rods, hitting him on the head and other parts of his body. Janak was severely injured and was rushed to the hospital in a 108 ambulance.
Sagar reported that the attackers had a long-standing grievance against Janak due to his relationship with their sister. The police have filed a complaint against Hitendra Gohil, Jaydeep Gohil, Hardeep Gohil, and several others. The police have moved Janak’s body for a post-mortem examination and are continuing their investigation. The village of Timbi is now engulfed in sorrow following this shocking event.
Such incidents highlight the dangers of love affairs in some rural areas, where family honour and social pressures can lead to tragic outcomes. The community is left in mourning while the police work to bring the perpetrators to justice. This case underscores the urgent need for awareness and dialogue about love, relationships, and violence in society.
