A shocking incident has occurred in Dahod, Gujarat. On June 5, a woman’s body was discovered in a deserted area near the Indore-Dahod Highway. The police began an investigation using CCTV footage. They found that the woman’s murderer was her own nephew.
The victim has been identified as Varsha Ben, also known as Leela Ben. She was originally from Morva village in Panchmahal district. Varsha was married and lived with her family in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh.
In their investigation, police teams reviewed over 100 CCTV cameras from Madhya Pradesh to Dahod. They found footage of the woman riding a bike with a man. The police tracked down the bike’s owner, who revealed that he sold the bike to Praveen Juwansingh Pamania from Kharod village in Dahod.
Upon questioning, Praveen disclosed shocking details. He had been in a romantic relationship with his aunt, Varsha Ben, for the past five years. However, Praveen was also involved with Varsha’s daughter. When Varsha learned about this, she confronted Praveen. She threatened to expose their relationship and inform the police if he did not end things with her daughter.
This threat led Praveen to plot his aunt’s murder. On June 5, he took Varsha from Jhabua to Dahod, claiming they were going to ask for food in nearby villages. They stopped for the night in a deserted area along the highway. Around 3 AM, Praveen attacked Varsha with a knife, killing her. After committing the crime, he fled the scene.
Dahod police carefully investigated the case and quickly arrested Praveen. Legal actions are now underway against him. This tragic event has raised concerns about safety along the Indore-Dahod Highway. The district police are taking measures to enhance security on the highway, including increased patrols and the establishment of a police assistance centre.
Authorities are committed to ensuring the safety of travelers on the highway. Anyone needing help can contact a dedicated helpline set up by the police. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety measures in rural areas. The police urge the community to report any suspicious activities immediately.
