A tragic incident occurred yesterday when an Air India flight from Ahmedabad to London crashed. Many passengers lost their lives, including several students who were dining at B.J. Medical College. One of the survivors, Drijesh Mor, a student of MBBS, shared his experience after returning to his hometown, Palanpur.
Drijesh was having lunch with friends when the accident happened. He recalled, “As I went to wash my hands, there was a loud explosion. We thought it was an earthquake or an airstrike due to the noise.” The explosion raised a huge cloud of dust, making it hard to see anything around.
As everyone panicked, Drijesh and his friends tried to escape. He described how they stumbled over debris as they made their way outside. Once outside, they saw the plane crashed into the building. Chaos ensued, and flames erupted from the wreckage. Drijesh and about 12 friends were on the ground floor, while many students were on the upper floors.
Tragically, Drijesh lost a close friend in the crash. He said, “One of our friends died suddenly because of the explosion. The situation was terrible, and I thank God that my other friends and I survived.”
