On June 12, a tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad led to the loss of 17 lives from Kheda district. Among these, seven bodies were handed over to their families today, June 17, for final rites. The deceased include couples from various villages.
Notable victims are Rajnikant Chimanbhai Darji and Pushpaben Rajnikant Darji from Vasona village, Mahadev Tukarambhai Pawar and Aashaben Mahadev Pawar from Saraswatnagar in Nadiad, and Praveen Kumar Chimanbhai Patel and Ranjanben Praveen Kumar Patel from Singhali village in Mahudha. Additionally, Rudra Chiragbhai Patel from Vansoli in Mehmdabad also lost his life in this crash.
The final rites took place in the presence of a large crowd. Pankajbhai Desai, the local MLA, Collector Amit Prakash Yadav, Police Superintendent Rajesh Gadhiya, and District Development Officer Jayant Kishore paid their tributes to the Pawar couple at Saraswatnagar. Similarly, Sanjaysinh Mahida and Arjunsinh Chauhan paid their respects to the Patel couple and Rudra Patel in their respective villages.
Officials from the district administration were present at all locations, providing support to the bereaved families. So far, 12 bodies have been handed over to their families for final rites. Efforts are ongoing to identify the remaining victims, and their bodies will be transported to the district soon.

The government has assured assistance to the families of the victims, and community leaders are rallying together to provide comfort in this time of grief.
