In a heartbreaking incident in Ranasan village, near Vijapur, a young man took his own life after being cheated out of ₹29 lakhs. The victim, Harshit, was promised a job in Australia by a man named Suresh Patel from Motipura. Harshit, who was from Kamalpur, paid the large sum to Suresh with hopes of starting a new life abroad.
Suresh assured Harshit that he would send him to Australia within six months. However, as time passed, Suresh failed to send Harshit overseas or return his money. This betrayal caused Harshit immense mental stress. In a state of despair, he consumed poison, leading to his hospitalisation.
Initially rushed to a private hospital in Vijapur, Harshit’s condition worsened, and he was subsequently transferred to Apollo Hospital in Ahmedabad for further treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, Harshit succumbed to the poison.
When family members questioned him about his actions, he revealed the full story of the betrayal. Additionally, a four-page suicide note was found, where Harshit expressed his anguish. He wrote about his fears regarding the future and how he did not want to burden his family with his troubles. Harshit mentioned that he had tried hard but felt he had failed in life. He also noted that he had lost all interest in living and requested that no one mourn his death.
In his note, Harshit pointed fingers at Suresh Patel, stating that Suresh had ruined his life. This has led Harshit’s family to file a complaint against Suresh Patel at the Vijapur police station. The police have registered a case based on the suicide note and are currently investigating the matter further.
This tragic event highlights the dangers of fraudulent practices and the severe impact they can have on individuals. It serves as a reminder of the importance of awareness and caution when dealing with financial matters, especially in cases involving promises of employment abroad. Families and communities must remain vigilant to prevent such heartbreaking incidents from happening again.
