A training session was held for the daughters of village heads and deputy village heads in Sanand Taluka. This initiative aimed to empower young girls and provide them with important knowledge about local governance and women’s welfare schemes. The event took place under the supervision of the Women’s and Child Development Officer’s office in Ahmedabad District.
The training was a joint effort of the Sankalp Hub for Empowerment of Women Scheme and the ICDS Sanand Sector-2. It focused on the Panchayati Raj system, which is essential for rural governance in India. Gender specialist Mr. Jitesh Solanki and financial literacy expert Ms. Hemal Barot conducted the sessions. They educated the participants about the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ scheme, which promotes the education and safety of girls.
During the training, the girls learned about various welfare projects and safety measures available for women and children. Their understanding of the Panchayati Raj system was enhanced, helping them grasp the responsibilities of village councils.
The session was attended by several key figures, including the Child Development Officer of Sanand Sector-2, Ms. Jagritibehan, and the Chief Sevika of Sejani. A large number of daughters from the Balika Panchayat, along with Anganwadi workers, participated in the event.
