In Gujarat, the Prime Minister’s Skill Development Scheme (PMKVY) is changing the lives of many young people. This initiative aims to train youth and help them find jobs. One inspiring story is that of 23-year-old Swapnil Patil from Surat, who has used this scheme to build a better future for himself and his family.
Swapnil studied at Maliba Pharmacy College in Surat. He comes from a humble family; his father sells vegetables, and his mother is a homemaker. While studying pharmacy, he learned about PMKVY. This scheme not only offers training but also helps successful candidates secure good jobs.
Learning about PMKVY was a turning point for Swapnil. He registered for the program, which provided him with the skills needed in the medical field, including knowledge of medical equipment and documentation. Through the training, he not only improved his technical skills but also developed his personality.
Swapnil shared his experience, saying, “When I was pursuing my B.Pharm course, I learned about PMKVY. This scheme has been a blessing for me. It enhanced my technical skills and allowed me to learn new things. The best part is that it’s free and provides a certified training that is critical for my career. Now, I can make informed decisions about my future. I encourage other youths struggling to find jobs to take advantage of PMKVY to achieve their dreams, gain employment, and earn respect in society.”
With a dream to make a mark in life, Swapnil has made his parents and community proud. Today, he works at Sahajanand Medical Technologies, earning ₹21,000 per month. This income has made him self-reliant and has also improved his family’s financial situation. His success has brought smiles to his family’s faces, and he is grateful to the Indian government for helping him climb the ladder of success.
The PMKVY scheme was launched in 2015 by the central government to provide training and employment opportunities to the youth. The program includes around 28 courses, ranging from agriculture to automotive and hospitality. Young people, whether they have completed their education or dropped out, can apply for these courses.
The initiative aims to provide skill training based on the qualifications of the youth. The government has instructed the establishment of training centers in various states to facilitate this initiative. Interested candidates must submit documents, including an Aadhaar card, bank account details, and a passport-sized photo.
Courses offered under PMKVY include plumbing, beauty and wellness, health care, hospitality and tourism, electronics, and many others. Each course is designed to enhance employability and help youths develop their skills.
In conclusion, PMKVY is more than just a training program. It is a pathway for many young people like Swapnil to transform their lives. By providing essential skills and job opportunities, it empowers the youth of Gujarat to build a brighter future for themselves and contribute positively to society.
