In a significant operation, the Jadar police in Gujarat’s Sabarkantha district have arrested two individuals for cultivating ganja. The police received a tip-off about illegal activities near the Valinath temple in Chitroda village. They seized 112 kilograms of ganja worth ₹11.36 lakh from a field there.
The arrested individuals are Sanjaybhai Chhababhai Bharwad, 32, and Tripathi Vrajbihari Chobhe, 55. Both men are residents of Chitroda. During the investigation, police discovered 147 green ganja plants and 1.560 kilograms of dried ganja. The green plants alone have an estimated value of ₹11.21 lakh.
The police have filed charges against the two under various sections of the NDPS Act. They were presented in court, where their remand was granted until July 11, 2025. The Jadar police station is further investigating the case, aiming to uncover the network behind this ganja cultivation.
