Two Arrested with Heroin Worth ₹17.21 Lakhs in Kutch

In Kutch district, Gujarat, police have arrested two men for drug trafficking. The men were caught in Gandhidham while trying to sell heroin. This incident highlights the ongoing issue of drug smuggling in the region.

On a recent day, police seized 34.43 grams of heroin valued at ₹17.21 lakhs from the suspects. They were staying in a private hotel when law enforcement apprehended them. The arrested individuals are identified as Gurudev Jat and Iqbal Laghad, both from outside the state.

The Gandhidham division police have taken action against the suspects and are continuing their investigation. This is not the first drug-related arrest in the area. Just two days prior, a woman was caught with MD drugs in Bhuj, another city in Kutch. The woman was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Bhuj police. She had 2.5 grams of MD drugs in her possession.

The police have registered cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against both suspects. The rise in drug trafficking in Kutch poses a significant challenge for law enforcement. Police continue to make regular seizures of narcotics in the district.

Authorities are working hard to combat this growing problem. They are increasing efforts to crack down on drug trafficking networks. The police encourage the public to report any suspicious activity related to drugs. Community cooperation is essential in the fight against drug abuse and trafficking.

In recent months, several operations have led to the confiscation of various drugs, showing that the police are determined to tackle this issue. The situation remains alarming, as drug-related crimes can have devastating effects on individuals and families. Local officials stress the importance of awareness and education about the dangers of drug abuse.

As Kutch grapples with this issue, residents hope for more effective measures to prevent drug trafficking and protect the community from the harms associated with illegal drugs. The police are committed to their mission of keeping the streets safe and drug-free. Further investigations are ongoing, and more arrests may follow as police delve deeper into the drug trade in the area.
