A man has been sentenced to three years in prison for harassing a college girl in Vadgam Taluka, Gujarat. The decision was made by the Sessions Court in Palanpur. The accused, identified as Rajan, also known as Rohit Sardarbhai Parmar, had repeatedly troubled the girl while she was studying at a local college.
To protect her, the girl’s family sent her to stay with relatives in another village of Palanpur. However, on November 24, 2022, she returned to the college to take an exam. During this time, the accused appeared on a motorcycle and loudly demanded to take her away, causing a scene.
The principal of the college intervened and called the police. The frightened girl was taken to Palanpur Government Hospital through emergency services. Subsequently, she filed a complaint against Rajan at the Vadgam police station.
The case was then presented in the Third Additional Sessions Court of Palanpur. Judge Amit Kanani considered the evidence and arguments made by the public prosecutor, Jashubhai Patel. In the end, the court ruled in favour of the victim, giving Rajan a three-year sentence and ordering him to pay a fine of ₹70,000.
