Vadodara School Receives Second Bomb Threat in Two Days

In Vadodara, a school received a bomb threat for the second consecutive day. On Tuesday, June 24, the principal of Refinery Gujarat Board School received an alarming email claiming a bomb was planted in the school and it would explode. The email was sent by an individual named Umar Farooq. Upon receiving the threat, police, bomb squads, and dog squads rushed to the scene to conduct a thorough search of the school. The Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 1, Jhuli Kothiya, confirmed that the school was under threat and immediate action was taken.

The principal checked the email at 7:35 AM on Tuesday, which had actually been sent the previous day at 6:47 PM. This means the threat was known for over 25 hours before it was reported. The same email address was used for a bomb threat sent to Navrachna School the day before, raising concerns about the safety of schools in the area.

As a precaution, the school administration quickly evacuated all students and informed parents to come and collect their children. Buses and vans were arranged to ensure the students’ safe return home. Parents were advised to remain calm and avoid blocking roads to allow police operations to proceed without obstruction.

It is worth noting that this type of incident is not new to Vadodara. In January 2025, the same Navrachna School received a similar bomb threat, which was later deemed a hoax after an extensive investigation by police. The repeated threats have caused anxiety among parents and school officials alike, prompting calls for stricter action against such threats.

Authorities are taking these threats seriously and have initiated a comprehensive investigation, including tracing the IP address of the email sent. The police and specialized teams are working diligently to ensure the safety of students and staff.

This recent spate of bomb threats highlights a growing concern regarding safety in schools. Parents are increasingly worried and are demanding that authorities take more robust measures to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future. For now, schools in Vadodara are on high alert and are cooperating fully with law enforcement agencies to maintain a secure environment for students.

As this situation develops, the community remains hopeful for swift action that will ensure the safety of all students in Vadodara’s schools.
