Kapadvanj, Gujarat – A minor disagreement turned violent in Singhal, Kapadvanj, leading to serious injuries for a father and son. The incident occurred when 28-year-old Hiten Kumar, also known as Raju, and his father, Pravin Bhai, were on their way to Singhal in their Bolero vehicle. As they passed by the house of Popat Dolabhai Rathod, Hiten confronted Popat about his nephew Sunil allegedly harassing his daughter. This confrontation escalated quickly.
Popat reacted aggressively, and soon the situation spiralled out of control. Sunil and several others, including Navghan and two women named Bhuribai and Sitabai, joined Popat. They began to confront Hiten and Pravin Bhai, demanding to know why they had come to their area and why they were making accusations against Sunil.
In the heat of the moment, Sunil pulled out a sharp weapon and attacked Pravin Bhai, inflicting injuries to his abdomen. When Hiten tried to intervene, he was also assaulted by Navghan and Popat using wooden sticks. The violence continued, with both Hiten and Pravin Bhai suffering serious injuries.
The altercation drew the attention of locals, and someone called for an ambulance. Hiten and Pravin Bhai were taken to a private hospital in Kapadvanj. Due to the severity of Pravin Bhai’s injuries, he was later referred to a hospital in Ahmedabad for further treatment.
The Kapadvanj police have registered a complaint based on Hiten’s account of the incident and have begun an investigation. The police are looking into the details of the case and trying to gather statements from witnesses.
This incident highlights the growing issue of violence in small disputes, which can quickly escalate into serious confrontations.
