Violence Erupts Over Debt Dispute in Kheriya Village

In a shocking incident in Kheriya village of the Limkheda taluka in Dahod district, four men formed an illegal group and attacked a local resident over a financial dispute. The attackers reportedly used a variety of weapons, including a wooden stick and a hoe, inflicting serious injuries on the victim, Aapsingh Bhala Bhai Palas.

The incident unfolded when the accused, Kamleshbhai Kapirbhai Palas, Alpehbhai Kapirbhai Palas, Vipulbhai Ramsinghbhai Palas, and Kapirbhai Malabhai Palas confronted Aapsingh Bhala Bhai Palas. They accused him of misusing funds from a local widow’s pension scheme and demanded repayment.

According to reports, the group aggressively approached Aapsingh and began verbally abusing him. They claimed that money from the pensions meant for widows in Jada and Chaidia villages had been misappropriated. In a fit of rage, they resorted to violence, attacking Aapsingh with the hoe and the wooden stick, causing severe injuries to his body, hands, legs, and head.

The attack created chaos in the village, with the assailants threatening to kill Aapsingh. After the assault, Aapsingh managed to escape and reported the incident to the Limkheda police station. Following his complaint, the police registered a case and initiated further legal actions against the accused.

The Limkheda taluka, located in the western part of India in Gujarat, is known for its underdeveloped status. The area has faced numerous challenges, including issues related to crime and law enforcement.
