The State Election Commission has announced local body elections in Gujarat, set to take place on June 22, 2025. In Banaskantha district, elections will be held for 614 gram panchayats across 14 talukas. Voting will occur from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM on that Sunday.

Among the 614 gram panchayats, there are two types of elections. First, 385 gram panchayats will hold regular elections, while 229 will conduct by-elections. The district is preparing for a significant turnout, with 1,182 polling stations set up to accommodate about 1,044,073 voters. This includes 537,488 male voters and 506,585 female voters.

In total, 405 sarpanch seats and 3,570 ward member seats are up for election in Banaskantha. The district will use 2,263 ballot boxes and has appointed 115 election officers and an equal number of assistant election officers. Approximately 6,811 polling staff will be deployed for the election process.

The taluka with the highest number of gram panchayat elections is Tharad, where elections will be held for 66 gram panchayats, including 41 sarpanch seats. Conversely, the least number of elections will take place in Amirgarh, covering 17 gram panchayats with 13 sarpanch seats. Notably, the 16-Disa gram panchayat is expected to see the highest participation, with around 4,500 voters.
