Young Woman Files Legal Complaint Against Neighbour After Abusive Relationship

In Ahmedabad’s Naroda area, a 23-year-old woman has taken a brave step by filing a police complaint against her neighbour, Hiren Ashwinbhai Shah. This complaint follows a troubling four-year relationship that involved manipulation and physical abuse. Hiren, who is married, initially moved into the neighbourhood four years ago. Despite being married, he started sending messages to Mona, leading to a romantic relationship between the two. However, Hiren’s marital status meant that marriage was not an option for them. He led Mona to believe that he would divorce his wife and marry her, which made her trust him.

In April 2021, Mona began living with Hiren in a flat near Naroda Viththal Plaza. Hiren told her that he had signed a friendship agreement and promised to divorce his wife. Over time, their relationship became physical, but Hiren never followed through with his promises. Four years passed, and Hiren did not marry Mona or even initiate a divorce from his wife. When Mona pressed him about marriage, he would get angry and physically abuse her.

Despite the abuse, Mona remained with Hiren, hoping for a future together. However, on May 28, when she brought up marriage again, Hiren exploded with anger and physically attacked her. Feeling overwhelmed, Mona returned to her mother’s home.

Recently, Hiren started stalking Mona, threatening her with violence if she did not return to him. He constantly called her with threats, which prompted Mona to confide in her parents about the situation. After gaining their support, she decided to take action.

On June 30, Mona filed a formal complaint against Hiren at the Naroda police station, accusing him of rape and other charges. Naroda Police Inspector P.V. Gohil and his team acted quickly, apprehending Hiren within hours of the complaint. They have launched a thorough investigation into the case to ensure justice for Mona.

This case highlights the importance of standing against domestic abuse and the need for legal protection for victims. Many women face similar situations but fear speaking out. Mona’s bravery is a hopeful sign for others in similar circumstances. It shows that there is help available and that victims can reclaim their lives from abusive relationships. The police are committed to taking this case seriously and ensuring that such actions do not go unpunished.
