Young Woman from Kalol Alleges Fraudulent Marriage Registration

In Kalol, a young woman named Anjali Sureshbhai Rana has made serious allegations against several individuals. She claims that they tricked her into signing documents for a marriage that never took place. Anjali filed a written complaint with the district police superintendent, the district collector, and the home minister, as well as at the Kalol police station.

According to her complaint, Hardik Ashokbhai Rana and his two friends, Ghanshyambhai Pradipbhai Kachhiya and Utam Bhogilal Kushwah, along with Gor Maharaj Naresh Ratilal Purohit, the Talati (village officer), and a notary from Godhra, conspired to deceive her. They allegedly forced her to sign blank papers under the influence of drugs and threats, claiming they were for a marriage certificate. Anjali asserts that on March 11, 2024, a marriage certificate was fraudulently created in Dhundi, a village in Thasra.

Anjali states that Hardik used their friendship to manipulate her into signing documents. She believes that he and the notary worked together to falsify the documents, making it appear as though she was married. The complaint alleges that all six accused played a role in this deceitful act. Additionally, Anjali claims that when she requested certified copies from the Talati, alterations had been made to the documents.

When Anjali’s engagement was announced, Hardik filed a case in Kalol Civil Court in 2024, seeking a search warrant against her. However, when Anjali appeared in court, she stated that she had no knowledge of the alleged marriage and lived with her parents. The court dismissed Hardik’s application.

Recently, Anjali faced harassment from the accused, leading her to file another complaint at the Kalol police station. She has requested a thorough investigation into her claims that the marriage was conducted without her consent. Anjali hopes that with proper inquiry, the truth will come to light regarding the fraudulent marriage registration.

The case raises concerns about consent and the integrity of legal documents. It highlights the need for vigilance in protecting individuals from fraudulent practices. Anjali’s courage to come forward may inspire others in similar situations to seek justice. The police have promised to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.

This incident has caught the attention of local authorities and the community, raising awareness about the importance of understanding one’s rights in matters of marriage and legal documentation. It also emphasizes the role of law enforcement in safeguarding citizens against deception and fraud.

As the investigation unfolds, it remains crucial for victims of such fraud to speak out and seek help. Anjali’s story serves as a reminder of the importance of education regarding legal processes, consent, and the protection of individual rights in society.
