Palanpur ST Department Sees Increased Revenue During Summer Vacation

The Palanpur ST department has reported a significant increase in revenue during the summer vacation period. Daily income has risen from ₹69 lakh to between ₹80 and ₹82 lakh. This boost is due to a higher number of passengers travelling during the holiday season. So far this year, the department has served 42.54 lakh passengers through 79,500 trips, generating a total revenue of ₹26.45 crore. Compared to last year, there has been an increase of 1.10 lakh passengers travelling on ST buses.

During the vacation, there has been heavy passenger traffic on routes to Ambaji, Ahmedabad, Dahod, Bhuj, Gandhidham, and Vadodara. To cope with the demand, the Palanpur ST department has operated over 562 buses daily, including more than 250 extra trips. Sources from the department indicate that the increased number of buses is to accommodate the high volume of passengers during this summer vacation.

In 2024, the daily revenue for the Palanpur ST department was ₹69 lakh, and it increased to ₹80-82 lakh in 2025. This growth in revenue and passenger numbers is attributed to the department’s commitment to providing affordable and safe transport services.

The extra buses and congestion on popular routes reflect the successful management of increased passenger demand. The department’s efficient operations and the trust of passengers have played a vital role in this achievement. The extra trips were especially focused on high-demand routes, ensuring that more passengers could travel comfortably.

Overall, the Palanpur ST department’s performance during the summer vacation showcases its ability to adapt to passenger needs. The increase in revenue not only highlights the department’s effectiveness but also underscores the importance of public transport in connecting people during peak travel seasons. With continued investment in services and infrastructure, the department aims to enhance its operations and further improve passenger experiences in the future.
