In Ahmedabad, preparations are in full swing for the 148th Rath Yatra. The Saraspur area is buzzing with activity as large kitchens are being set up. They are planning a grand feast for saints, priests, and devotees attending the event.
Thousands of kilos of Mohanthal, Fulkas, and Aloo Shaak will be prepared for the feast. On June 27, a huge number of devotees are expected to partake in the meal as prasadam. Arrangements have been made to serve over 1,000 people at once.
The deities have returned to their temple after the water procession, and following their eye-opening ceremony, they have donned golden attire. Additionally, elephants are being worshipped at the temple. The three chariots were brought into the temple compound recently.
Mahant Dilipdasji from the Jagannath Temple will be awarded the title of Jagadguru tomorrow. Before the Rath Yatra, Mahant Dilipdasji performed rituals for 18 elephants, which are considered to be the form of God Ganesh, within the temple compound.
The elephants were welcomed with tribal dances and Garba in the temple area. During this event, Jay Shah, the chairman of the ICC, and MP Parimal Nathwani were present. The final preparations for Lord Jagannath’s city procession are now underway. Moreover, Mahant Dilipdasji of the Jagannath Temple will receive the Jagadguru title.
The Bhajan Sandhya programme, organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party – Saraspur Rakhiwal Ward, saw the presence of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, BJP leaders, and local devotees. This event was a joyous occasion for all involved, marking a significant cultural highlight as the Rath Yatra approaches.
