Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Gujarat on May 26 and 27, 2025. During this visit, he will inaugurate various development projects worth over ₹24,000 crore in Dahod. This includes the launch of a manufacturing workshop for railway components at a cost of ₹21,405 crore. The new workshop aims to boost local employment and support the economy by creating around 10,000 jobs.
The railway projects will also feature the doubling of several rail lines, including the Anand-Godhra and Mehsana-Palanpur lines. Furthermore, the electrification of the Sabarmati-Botad rail line will improve connectivity and efficiency.
In addition to railway development, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate four water supply schemes costing ₹181 crore. These projects will provide clean drinking water to over 193 villages and one city, benefiting around 462,000 residents in the Mahi Sagar and Dahod districts. This is a significant step towards improving public health and quality of life in these areas.
One of the major water supply projects will serve 39 villages in the Balasinor taluka, ensuring access to clean water for more than 101,000 people. Another project in the Kheroli area will cover 51 villages and 15,011 residents in Virpur city.
Prime Minister Modi will also initiate several urban development projects in Dahod, including a new municipal building and an Adivasi Museum. These initiatives aim to enhance public facilities and promote cultural heritage.
Alongside these projects, ₹233 crore will be allocated for various civic amenities. This includes improvements to local infrastructure, such as roads and public housing. The investments in Dahod are expected to stimulate economic growth and enhance the quality of life for the residents.
