A Young Man’s Pilgrimage: Walking 1200 km from Haridwar

In the village of Bhachar, Tharad taluka, a devoted young man has undertaken a remarkable journey. He is walking barefoot from Haridwar, carrying holy water from the Ganges. This trek covers an incredible distance of about 1200 km. Despite facing severe heat, fatigue, and numerous challenges along the way, his faith and devotion remain unshaken.

After walking 1150 km, he reached Panthawada on the 41st day of his pilgrimage. Local residents, along with Dr Rameshbhai from Aastha Hospital, warmly welcomed Harishbhai Chaudhary with flowers and great enthusiasm.

Harish Chaudhary explained that this pilgrimage is not just a journey. “It is a resolution, a penance,” he said. With every step, he chants “Bam Bam Bhole!”, bringing to life the spirit of community welfare. People are inspired by his spiritual enthusiasm and self-confidence.

Along the journey, generous individuals offered him water, fruit, and places to rest. Harish plans to return to his village on the first day of the Shravan month, where he will perform a ritual at the Shiva Lingam.

He emphasized, “My aim is not just to see Lord Shiva. I want to awaken devotion and culture in society. I do not seek celebration or fame. I am on this journey to offer my devotion to God Shiva.”

Haridwar is a sacred city located in Uttarakhand, Northern India. It is known as the gateway to the Ganges River and is one of the seven sacred cities for Hindus.
