In Ahmedabad, students from 400 schools took part in various competitions as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. This initiative is aimed at celebrating India’s Independence Day and promoting patriotism. The campaign runs from August 8 to 15, leading up to the 77th Independence Day. The competitions included rangoli, quizzes, letter writing, and drawing. The students showed great enthusiasm and creativity in their work.
In the rangoli competition, students created beautiful designs featuring the national flag and symbols of patriotism. The drawing competition showcased their artistic skills, with many depicting freedom fighters, the tricolor flag, and important national symbols. The atmosphere in the schools was filled with a sense of pride and dedication towards the nation.
The state government, under Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, has encouraged these activities to instill a sense of belonging and cleanliness among the youth. The campaign’s theme is ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Har Ghar Swachhata: Swatantrata Ka Utsav, Swachhata Ke Sang’. This theme promotes not only displaying the national flag but also maintaining cleanliness in homes and public spaces.
The campaign includes many events across the state, with major celebrations planned in cities like Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad. A grand flag procession will occur from August 9 to 12 in these cities, involving schools, cultural groups, and local communities.
During this period, schools will also engage in various programs, such as cleanliness drives and educational sessions about the significance of freedom and the tricolor flag. Students will learn about their responsibilities as citizens and the importance of national pride. Notably, they will also prepare tricolor rakhi for soldiers and police personnel, symbolising their respect and gratitude.
The government has also planned cultural events featuring performances from local dance groups and bands, including school bands and police bands. These performances will celebrate India’s rich culture and history, further enhancing the festive spirit.
As part of the campaign, all homes, shops, and government offices are encouraged to display the national flag. This initiative aims to create a sea of tricolor across the state, reinforcing national pride among the citizens.
In summary, the Ahmedabad schools’ participation in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign highlights the importance of unity and patriotism. Through creative competitions and community involvement, students are learning to appreciate their heritage and contribute to a cleaner, more respectful society.
