Xtelify, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has launched a new cloud platform called Airtel Cloud. This platform is designed to handle up to 140 crore transactions per minute, which is how much Airtel uses in India. It is now available for businesses in the country. The Airtel Cloud is hosted on next-generation data centres that are sustainable. It uses AI for easy setup and is managed by a team of 300 certified cloud experts. This cloud service offers Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and advanced connectivity. It promises secure migration, easy scaling, and lower costs without vendor lock-ins.
In addition to the cloud platform, Xtelify introduced a software platform powered by artificial intelligence. This platform aims to simplify operations for telcos worldwide. It seeks to improve customer experiences, reduce customer churn, and increase revenue per user (ARPU). The software addresses various aspects of the telecom value chain, offering a data engine for AI-driven insights, a workforce platform for managing tasks, and a customer experience platform to enhance service delivery.
Xtelify has also formed three key global partnerships. The first is with Singtel, where they will implement ‘Xtelify Work’. This platform will help Singtel’s teams in Singapore. It includes features like fleet optimization and automated task management to boost productivity.
The second partnership is with Globe Telecom in the Philippines. Here, Xtelify will deploy ‘Xtelify Serve’, which aims to improve customer service through omni-channel support and streamlined operations.
Finally, Xtelify is partnering with Airtel Africa to provide several software platforms. This will empower Airtel Africa’s 150,000 field agents across 14 countries with better market insights and secure customer engagement. The platforms will also enhance customer service quality in Africa.
Gopal Vittal, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Bharti Airtel, expressed his excitement about these developments. He emphasized the importance of this moment for Airtel as they extend their homegrown platforms to businesses in India and telcos globally. He highlighted that Airtel Cloud has already transformed customer experiences for over 590 million users. All data managed by the cloud will remain in India, ensuring privacy and security.
Ng Tian Chong, CEO of Singtel Singapore, stated that the platform will improve workflows, allowing engineers to serve customers faster and more efficiently. Carl Cruz, President and CEO of Globe Telecom, added that this collaboration will help enhance customer experiences by providing clear and accountable service.
Jacques Barkhuizen from Airtel Africa expressed pride in working with Xtelify to deliver meaningful advancements that improve lives across the continent. This initiative marks a significant shift for Airtel, moving from a telecom operator to a digital technology leader. The launch of these services places Airtel in competition with major global cloud providers while supporting India’s push for digital sovereignty. With these new offerings, Airtel aims to help businesses innovate faster and operate more efficiently in a rapidly changing digital landscape.
